Welcome to the home page of the Fritillaria Group of the Alpine Garden Society.
The Fritillaria Group is a specialist section of the Alpine Garden Society and has been in existence since 1997. The group aims to increase the knowledge of all species, both rare and well known, which make up the Genus.
Membership of the Group now stands at over 350 with representation
from most of Europe and countries as far as Japan, North and South
America, Australia and New Zealand.
We
presently have twice yearly informal meetings. At the Spring
meeting there is a non competitive show and plant sale,
while in the Autumn there is usually a sale of bulbs and
surplus seed. At both of these meetings there are talks and a lively dialogue
between the members on various aspects of Fritillaria cultivation.
The group publishes two newsletters a year providing information on the various
species of fritillaries both cultivated and in the wild, together with
travelogues and experiences in growing Fritillaria. There is also
a seed exchange in August. We hope you will find our website
useful and inspiring and if you are not already a member,
then why not join us? |
